Product Release: Widgets And User Pages
Wednesday, May 21, 2008
There are two new Modules available today: Widgets and User Pages.
The Widgets module provides a set of tools to ease the task of importing HTML and JavaScript widgets from other sites into your EditMe site. It also provides a Page Widget that allows you export the content of any EditMe page as a widget for display in another web site. See the entry in the Modules Directory for additional details.
The User Pages module fills a specific need for teachers and other site administrators that need to create multiple users each with a private content page. Without this module, an administrator must create a user, a group, a policy and a page for each user. With this module, multiple users can be created with an associated page and security settings with a single form post. See the entry in the Modules Directory for additional details.
In case you missed the last product release announcement, Modules provide a way to package a set of features for one-click installation into your site. Modules allow us to provide features that will be useful to some users without cluttering up the product for everyone. You can access the Modules administration screen and install these and other modules by navigating to Settings -> General Settings -> Modules.
