EditMe's blog module allows your site to host multiple blogs with multiple contributors. The blog capability is essentially some glue that combines several features of EditMe to create a chronological list of related pages that always shows the most recent "posts". This video shows you how to install and get started using EditMe's Blog Module.

Using EditMe's Blog Module

EditMe's Blog module lets you manage one or more blogs on your EditMe site. Your blog page will display the most recent post and an archive feature will provide navigation to previous posts. Blogs are a great place to put news, tips and other frequently changing information on your EditMe site. You can create a separate blog for each member of your wiki, or you can create one or more topical blogs and let multiple members contribute to each.

To use blogs, you must first install the Blog Module. Go to Site Settings and choose Modules from the Site Management menu. Click Blog Module ... and then click the Install button.

The module adds a page to your site named CreateBlog. You'll use this page to create each blog on your site. Click the link provided after installing the module. In the future, you can get back to this page from the module screen.

Click the link to the module's documentation for detailed descriptions of each field in this form. We're going to create a simple blog using the default settings. The resulting page explains what changes have been made to your site.

Note the new entry in your site's Menu navigation. This will serve as the home page for your blog. If you edit this page, you'll see it simply an include tag. The blog module documentation contains a link to the wiki page that explains how this tag can be customized to alter the behavior of your blog. What's important to remember is that this is not where you'll enter your blog posts.

Remmber, each blog post is a page on your site. To create your first post, just create a new page ... and select the template for your new blog. ... You'll notice a tag at the top - this displays the date and you should leave it there. Put your post content beneath it.

When you save, you'll see you've simply created a new page on your site, but it doesn't show up in the menu like other new pages. Instead, you'll see it when you click on the entry for your blog.

Let's create a second post to see how that works. ... You'll see that the first post has been replaced with the second. We can still get to the first post by clicking the Archive link.
