Product Release: SSL (https) for Custom Domains
Monday, August 3, 2009
EditMe now provides SSL certificates for custom domains, enabling the use of secure HTTPS connections with non-editme.com domains. If you use a custom domain for your EditMe site and want to take advantage of a secure connection when viewing or logging in, read on.
Previously, this capability was not a cost-effective option for most EditMe customers, requiring a costly dedicated instance of the EditMe service. This change puts secure SSL encryption within reach of all sites at the Corporate Plan level (see Pricing). Certificates cost $150 per domain per year and take just a few business days to purchase and configure.
If you are interested in this new offering, upgrade your site to the Corporate plan and contact sales or use the private support forum to request certificate purchase and configuration. Be sure to include the custom domain you want used on the certificate.
Custom Domain Pricing Change
With this release, support custom domains has also moved from the Standard plan to the Professional plan. Existing customers at the Standard plan level do not need to upgrade - this change only affects new sites.
