Thursday, October 15, 2009

A maintenance release went live yesterday that includes many stability enhancements to EditMe's editor and maintenance releases of the Forum and To Do modules.

Editor Updates

No More Paste From Word!Fixes and enhancements to the editor:

  • The "Paste From Word" button has been removed - this feature is now automatic for any content pasted into the editor.
  • Many issues with Safari and Internet Explorer 8 have been addressed.
  • Plain Text Editor can now be resized with drag and drop, just like the Rich Text Editor.
  • Resize the Plain Text EditorEditor size is shared between all three editor types and is now saved in a cookie between browser sessions. Resize once for your screen size and forget it. If you've never resized your editor, you must do so once for the size to be saved into a cookie and shared among the three editors.
  • Tables are now outlined in some browsers and platforms where they previously were not.

Forum Module Updates

Updated Forums ModuleVersion 1.2 of the Forums Module includes a few minor fixes:

  • Administrators can move topics between forums - useful for organizing topics posted to the wrong forum.
  • Links in reply notifications are now properly formatted - they were not appearing as links in some email programs.
  • Fixed a bug that caused all forums to be marked as read when any forum was viewed.

To update your site's forums you must reinstall the Forums module. Existing topic pages won't show the dropdown to change the forum until they are regenerated with a new reply.

To Do Module Updates

Updated To Do ModuleVersion 1.2 of the To Do Module includes a few minor fixes as well:

  • Items with quote characters no longer get messed up when moving between competed and uncompleted.
  • The checkbox for newly completed items is now appropriately marked in IE8.
  • To Do tools links now display the appropriate link cursor and fix a character formatting issue on the Mac.

You can update your existing To Do Module by simply installing the new version over your old version.
