December Product Updates

Monday, January 7, 2008

We were so busy in December we hardly had time to post to the blog! There were a number of product updates in December. Here's the scoop:

  • You can now email Groups of users as well as individual users. Simply go to the Groups management screen of your EditMe site, check the box next to one or more Groups, and click Email Selected Groups to send a message to every member of the selected groups.
  • Site administrators can now add help content to the top of their site's Registration form. Simply create a page called RegistrationFormHelp and enter whatever content you like. Then take a look at your site's Registration form (you'll need to enable public or moderated registrations on your site and then log out to see the Registration link). Be sure to make that page editable by Administrators only. Site administrators who have opened their site to public editing may want to create this page and set Admin-only security even if they leave the content blank.
  • EditMe now has an monthly email newsletter to keep customers current on product and service-related news, as well as tips and tricks. The first issue will be coming out this month. If you would like to receive the newsletter, simply fill out the sign up form.
  • December saw massive updates to EditMe's JavaScript API. It is now possible for those with web programming skills to build fully interactive web applications on the EditMe platform. We've created an area just for developers at our help site with all the documentation needed to get started. Stay tuned for some cool one-page application examples that even non-programmers can simply copy and paste into their sites. Non-programmers can also enlist EditMe's custom development services to build custom applications for their sites.
