EditMe released several exciting new features as part of Release 24. Each update is detailed below. See the new online help for additional details.
List All Changes by UserYou can now click any user name on the Recent Changes page or any Versions page to see the last 100 changes by that user.
Email included in Admin User List
The list of users in Site Settings: Users now includes email address. This makes it easy to find a user by searching the page for their email address.
Editor Resizing
The page and comment editors now have a handle in the bottom right corner that can be dragged to resize the editor both vertically and horizontally. The editor remembers the new size between editing sessions. This option is only available for the Comment editor if the "Use Full Editor for Comments" option is activiated in Site Settings.
Edit Screen Redesign
The Edit Page screen has been rearranged for better usability. The Page Title is in a large editable area at the top, and the Page Properties have been moved to an area that can be shown instead of the editor using a toggle button at the bottom of the screen. This simplifies the screen, provides more real estate for the editor, and makes room for the new page properties added in this release. Additionally, the somewhat confusingly named "Comment" box at the bottom of the screen has been renamed to "Describe Change".
Hide Page from Index, Search and Recent Changes
This new page property allows a page to be hidden from the Index, Search and Recent Changes screens (including email notifications). This allows administrators to manage includes and other utility-type pages without confusing visitors with links to them in these areas. This option is only available to Administrator users.
Raw Content Page Option
This powerful new page property allows the content of a page to be served up "raw", without being included in the site's XSL layout. When enabled, you can also specify the MIME type that the server should specify. This allows non-HTML pages like Javascript includes, cascading stylesheets and XML documents to be served and easily editable from EditMe. This option is only available to Administrator users.
Special Page Management
Since pages that are Hidden or set to Raw Content using the new page properties described above cannot be easily edited using the normal Tools menu, a new Special Pages screen has been added to the Site Settings tool to facilitate management of these pages for Administrators. All Hidden and Raw Content pages are listed along with links to Edit, view Versions, and manage Attachments for each.
Disable Comments Per Page
This page option allows an Administrator to over-ride the site's Show Comments setting for a specific page. This allows individual pages to disable the Comments feature while other pages allow visitors to leave Comments. Note: Site administrators will have to re-apply their site's Skin to benefit from this new feature.Disk Usage By Page Report
The Disk Space & Bandwidth report in Site Settings now includes a new report that lists all pages on the site ordered by disk usage. While the list is sorted by total disk usage for each page, additional information provided for each page includes totla page content size across all versions of the page, the number of versions currently stored, and the total size of all attachments for the page. This provides administrators with a powerful tool for conserving disk space on their site.
