Product Release: Search Form Include
Friday, December 19, 2008
There is now a simple way to include a tasteful little search form anywhere on your site. The search form was borrowed from the one embedded into the top of the Newton family of skins. It has no button (by default) and shows a watermarked search icon in the text box as a visual cue. Drop one of these into your site's Menu page to make search one click away from any page of yo ur site.
To use it, just paste this text into any page of your EditMe site:
[[include:_SearchForm]]
You can also specify either of two options: button and size.
- Use the button option to show a button with the specified text if you don't like expecting visitors to use their Enter key.
- Use the size option to specify the size of the text box and optional button as a percentage value, relative to the normal size for your site. For example, a value of 100 will show them at the default size for your site. The default is 80.
Here's an example that shows a Search button and makes it 100%.
[[include:_SearchForm button=Search size=100]]
What you'll get looks like this:
See the Include Scripts page of the wiki for some additional details.
